Back-to-School Cleanout: Make Room for the New Stuff

Every August it's the same story. You've got a cart full of new school supplies, a pile of fresh clothes, and a backpack that cost more than your first car — and nowhere to put any of it because the house is still packed with last year's stuff.

• Deflated or cracked pool floats and water toys
• Old lawn furniture that's seen better days
• Boxes of stuff you moved "temporarily" two years ago and never unpacked
• Seasonal decorations that are broken, faded, or that you just don't use anymore
